Main Campus North represents the initial thrust of growth from the Pentacrest outward dominated by building to the north. The classical architecture of the Pentacrest was extended north in this area and is capped off at the far end by the President’s Residence. This area is home to roughly one-half the campus student population residence halls and contains the oldest existing residence hall, Currier.

the 1925-built Chemistry Building,
the further extension of the T. Anne
Cleary Walkway to the north, and
the development of the beginning of a writers' neighborhood to include the
Dey House and Shambaugh as
anchors. The old City Water Plant
provides opportunity for future
