The James M. Hoak Family Golf Complex opened for use in 2013, giving the Hawkeye men’s and women’s golf teams a chance to practice year-round and continue to compete with the best nationally. The facility is named in honor of James M. Hoak and his family in recognition of their years of support for the UI. The fundraising effort for the new complex was led by Hoak friends and family members—a combined effort that raised nearly half of the funds for the facility. The state-of-the-art James M. Hoak Family Golf Complex is located at Finkbine Golf Course. The facility features a 5,000 square foot Transamerica Performance Studio, highlighted by five indoor-to-outdoor hitting stations, V-1 Video Swing Analysis and Trackman technology. The performance studio also includes a 3,150 square foot indoor putting and chipping green. The Golf Complex includes men's and women's locker rooms, coaches' offices, team lounge and a trophy room that displays the history of Iowa golf. The14,000 square foot outdoor putting green, outdoor wedge range and bent grass practice area complete the facility and place it among the best in collegiate golf.
