CAMPUS MASTER PLAN OPEN FORUMS
The University of Iowa held two public forums Thursday, May 25, to discuss the recently released 2006 Campus Master Plan. The prinicples and information within this plan will help shape how the campus develops in the future.

Joe Hibbard of Sasaki Associates, Inc. made two presentations on the Campus Master Plan at 1:30 and 3:30 p.m., Thursday, May 25, 2006, in the Senate Chamber of the Old Capitol. Approximately 60 Facilities Management staff attended along with members of the UI community, officials from Iowa City and Coralville, and the general public.

Hibbard helped develop the plan. Hibbard and Sasaki are nationally known for their campus planning work at major and peer institutions.

The 2006 UI plan, entitled "The Campus, the Buildings, and the Space Between" was developed under the guidance of the 11-member UI Campus Planning Committee as well as UI Facilities Management. During the past two years, faculty, students, staff, deans, department chairs, unit directors, administrators, UI Hospitals and Clinics planners, and Iowa City and Coralivlle city planners contributed information and ideas to develop the framework for guiding future preservation and develoment of the campus.
