Facilities Management is a part of the University division called Finance and Operations. To help you learn about the "big picture" of your workplace, you attend orientation soon after being hired.
Finance and Operations first introduces everyone in the division to the stategic intitiaves and your role in each. You'll meet people who work in other departments of the division and will learn the information you need to fulfill the division's intiatives while working in Facilities Management.
Facilities Management Orientation follows the division introduction. We explore the diverse businesses of Facilities Management from steam, light, and power to design, construction, maintenance and classroom technology.
We look at how we align our work with the Facilities Management and University vision, developing relationships with internal and external customers. We tour many of the operational and administrative areas of Facilities Management.
All new Facilities Management staff attend this orientation. Guests from the University community are welcome. Generally, it is held the Monday and Tuesday following the University orientation.
