About Us

Facilities Management (FM) represents five core areas of expertise and service including three operational areas. With over 500 employees dedicated to excellence, we serve the University of Iowa through a range of functions including building care and landscaping, facilities information services, construction and project management, utilities, and sustainability. Facilities Management is a division of University Finance & Operations.

Business & Financial Services is responsible for administrative support of all units of Facilities Management with specific responsibilities for budgeting, accounting, human resources, information technology, and maintenance stores.

Design & Construction leads a comprehensive and cooperative approach to design and construction excellence in creating a campus that is consistent with the University of Iowa's status as one of the nation's leading academic/research institutions.

UI Utilities

The University of Iowa officially transferred management of its utility system to ENGIE North America on March 11, 2020. The 50-year partnership with ENGIE and Meridiam will help fund and support the University's strategic plan and core missions of teaching, research, and scholarship. More information is available here.
