Facilities Management (FM) represents five core areas of expertise and service including three operational areas. With over 500 employees dedicated to excellence, we serve the University of Iowa through a range of functions including building care and landscaping, facilities information services, construction and project management, utilities, and sustainability. Facilities Management is a division of University Finance & Operations.

Business & Financial Services

Business & Financial Services is responsible for administrative support of all units of Facilities Management with specific responsibilities for budgeting, accounting, human resources, information technology, and maintenance stores.

Design & Construction

Design & Construction leads a comprehensive and cooperative approach to design and construction excellence in creating a campus that is consistent with the University of Iowa's status as one of the nation's leading academic/research institutions.

D&C Org Chart

UI Utilities

UI Utilities works with the contracted utility operator, Engie, to meet the energy needs of the UI campus. UI Utilities manages the P3 contract with Engie, coordinates with the Office of Sustainability and the Environment, manages campus-wide environmental compliance, and oversight of fuel and electric contracts. The UI Energy Collaborative provides energy resources to campus while advancing important initiatives and research.

Finance and Operations Human Resources supports the mission of F&O by providing the quality and breadth of services necessary for the University of Iowa to flourish as an institution of higher education.
