Celebrating the history of University of Iowa athletics, the Roy G. Karro Building (also called the Karro Athletics Hall of Fame), houses the University of Iowa Athletics Hall of Fame, an anchor for the Athletics Campus. The Roy G. Karro Building showcases more than 100 years of Hawkeye athletic excellence through prestigious memorabilia throughout Iowa’s rich athletic history. Spanning 26,000 square feet over three floors, it includes museum exhibits, conference rooms, a movie theater, and even an interactive basketball court area constructed from the historic Iowa Field House flooring. Since its construction, the area around it has been further developed with the addition of a new tennis and recreation facility, a soccer stadium, and the relocated Grant Field hockey stadium. The Hall of Fame makes the achievements of University athletics accessible to the public—including Nile Kinnick’s famed Heisman Trophy.

Achievements
- Received his Bachelor's of Arts degree in sociology from the University of Iowa in 1942
- Made a $3 million gift to UI Intercollegiate Athletics to fund the Roy G. Karro Hall of Fame and Visitors Center
- Karro has made numerous gifts to his alma mater, contributing to the UI every year since 1956, when the University of Iowa Foundation began
- Additional contributions include the commissioning of the bronze bust of Coach Hayden Frye and the establishment of the Jim Zabel Scholarship Fund for broadcast journalism
- In 1999, he was named an honorary letter winner and was a 2002 recipient of The University of Iowa Alumni Association's Distinguished Alumni Service Award
